• Your fire risk assessment report has concluded your premises is ‘high risk’ and your employees do not have the adequate level of training.
    • Your employees are responsible for the safety of vulnerable people or a large number of people, e.g. schools, hotels and residential care homes.
    • Your business does not have the adequate number of fire marshals/wardens for the occupancy of your building.
    • You have had a building alteration or extension which requires more staff to be trained or to have more in-depth safety training.
    • You’ve had a fire drill recently and the procedural response was not of an acceptable standard.
    • Your business’s employees have had fire safety training but require refresher training or you have taken on new staff who require induction training.

If you have all of the necessary fire safety equipment but the people on site are unaware of the procedures to carry out in the event of a fire, this can lead to serious implications that could have been solved with simple training.

    • Have a fire risk assessment to determine whether your building is a low, normal or high risk environment and implement the recommendations to stay both safe and legal.
    • Once your fire safety strategy is legally compliant and in the best place to keep you and your occupants safe, make sure your employees are equipped with fire safety training.
    • Appoint the correct number of fire marshals/wardens for the size of your building’s occupancy.
    • Have clear and unobstructed emergency exits, and a formulated evacuation plan.
    • Carry out frequent fire drills and have regular refresher fire safety training.

Fire safety training is an essential part of your business’s fire safety strategy, giving your staff and designated responsible persons, such as fire marshals/wardens, the knowledge and confidence to act calmly and efficiently in an emergency.

You’ll learn about how fires can develop and spread, best practice preventative strategies, how to raise the alarm, how to evacuate safely and much more.

Our fire safety training courses range from basic and intermediate to advanced fire marshal training. Training lasts approximately two hours and we come to you, offering interactive sessions promoting both teamwork and individual fire safety awareness. This will enable your employees to respond appropriately during fire drills (which should take place once a term for schools and at least once a year for businesses) and in a real emergency.

WFP’s professionals do not use live fire training, however nominated staff will be trained in the use of fire extinguishers. If you would also like evacuation training to help immobile and vulnerable individuals escape, this can also be worked into your fire safety training programme. Once you’ve completed your training, you will receive a certificate as proof you have undertaken legally required fire safety training.
