Any-which-way you turned this weekend, there was physical activity.
It seemed like it was the final of nearly every sport on the planet.
We had Wimbledon.
Then the World Cup.
Followed by the Athletics World Cup, held in the London Olympic Stadium.
And that was only Sunday!
From all these major events, there didn’t seem to be many mishaps or slip-ups.
In particular, I feel a lot of credit should go to Russia for pulling off a relatively smooth and expectation exceeding World Cup.
Arguably one of the best we’ve ever had.
Russia really did themselves proud.
(I don’t know about you, but it has really made me want to visit the country.)
But, for me, the closing ceremony was the icing on top of a very delicious cake.
Hundreds of performers all dancing their hearts out!
Will Smith rapping and jumping about the stage.
They even had the Brazilian Footballing Legend, Ronaldinho making a cameo appearance on the drums, showing that he’s just as skillful with his hands as he is with his feet.
It was quite the spectacle!
But did they get to the point of ‘near perfection’ by just waking up on the day and hoping for the best?
They practiced their routines for dozens of months on end and put in countless hours.
They knew that if you work on something near enough everyday, you’ll be pretty good at it after a while.
Here at WFP, we do exactly that.
As well as this, we’re always making use of our brand new training room. If you ever wanted to pop in and see it, maybe even have a couple of rounds of table tennis, feel free to let me know and we’ll be happy to show you around.
’til next time!
All the best,
PS. If you missed him on the drums and wanted to have a quick watch, I’ve found a clip of Ronaldinho looking as ‘Happy as Larry’…
