BAFE – what it means to our customers
BAFE (British Approval for Fire Equipment) is a non-profit making organisation, and is recognised by insurance companies, local authorities and government bodies.
By being third party accredited our work is audited on a bi-annual basis, involving both visits to our offices and sites, whereby system designs, procedures and policies are independently audited to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Under the British Standards Institution (BSI) scheme, Wire Free-Protection Limited (trading as WFP (Fire & Security)) are authorised to certify the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance and verification of fire alarm systems.
The accreditation offers the customer confidence in WFP; it offers them reassurance that the processes we have in place to effectively undertake works, have been approved. The BAFE SP203 Modular Scheme was developed by stakeholders from interested parties, and chaired by the British Fire Protection Systems Association.
WFP can now offer full BAFE SP203 for:
• Design;
• Installation;
• Commissioning;
• Service and Maintenance.
The objectives are to provide assurance to customers that a company approved by BAFE can deliver what it promises.
An important aspect of the scheme is the module certification that needs to take place at the end of each phase of the project. This is formal evidence that the module has been completed in accordance with requirements.
